It is proven that most adult learners require three study methods or resources in
order to retain the highest percentage of information. As part of our Integrated
Learning model, New Horizons provides reinforcement tools to increase retention
of the course material and move learners further along their learning lifecycle.
Each method of delivery includes a number of reinforcement tools that may or may
not be available in all three modalities.

From hands-on labs to reference materials to practice exams, the learning experience
is enhanced by a host of resources:
Learning Guides
Classroom Learning students receive a Learning Guide to use as an at-a-glance review
tool, outlining all of the main concepts and skills presented in the Classroom Learning
course. This guide is a condensed hard-copy booklet of the corresponding eCourseware
that accompanies the course.
eCourseware
Classroom and Online LIVE students also receive an electronic version of the complete
courseware manual for the class that contains the most current version of the content
available for viewing online for six months, printing or downloading for later use.

Learning Kits
Students taking a technical course receive a complete kit instead of a Learning
Guide since technical classes are generally much longer in length than applications
classes and the course content is more complex. A kit is generally vendor-authorized
and includes a large binder, software, and other resources.
Online ANYTIME Post-class Resources
In addition to the classroom instruction, where available, students receive a self-paced
Online ANYTIME tutorial (course) for possible use during class and as a post-class
resource for an extended period of time. This interactive, multimedia tutorial includes
the same content covered in Classroom and Online LIVEi Learning courses and provides
students with "just-in-time" learning - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for six months.
Students can reinforce a skill learned in class, review the content to prepare for
an exam, research a topic or brush up on skills while on the job. They can repeat
the lessons as many times as they want. The self-paced tutorial provides hands-on
training as if in the real application, without needing the software loaded.
Online LIVEi Archives
Online archives are recordings of the live classroom sessions. Online LIVE students
are able to play back archived recordings for extra review of the class content
or if they missed the live event. Archived recordings are easily accessible through
the student's online Learning Plan - at their fingertips 24 hours a day.
Online Reference Books
Our online Books24x7 provides the Web's finest technical reference library. Online
ANYTIME library subscribers have access, 24 hours a day, to full electronic versions
of top technical books from leading technology publishers such as MIT Press, O'Reilly,
Que, Sams, Sybex and Wiley. These reference books can be used to reinforce the learning
experienced at New Horizons.
Virtual Labs
vLab technology is live, hands-on experience with real equipment - not a simulation
or a computer-based training program. vLabs greatly enhance learning and provide
additional real-world experience similar to working with networking technologies,
such as a Cisco-powered production network or a Microsoft network infrastructure.
VLab exercises are extremely valuable in reinforcing learning in all methods of
delivery.
New Horizons Retake Policy
Students may retake Classroom Learning within six months, or Online LIVE courses
within 30 days, on a space-available basis.
Exam Preparation
For those IT professionals preparing for a certification exam, New Horizons Exam
Prep provides the simulation environment that can effectively assess test readiness
and prepare learners to pass their exam the first time. Exam prep may also be used
as a learning aide.
Learning Labs
Within each of our physical locations is a learning lab for students to use our
equipment and labs to study, practice for exams using exam preparation software,
access their Online ANYTIME tutorials or participate in an Online LIVE session.
