Are You Ready for the New SQL Server 2005 Certifications?
With the release of SQL Server 2005 in November of 2005, Microsoft has also announced
a new certification program for database professionals. The new generation of Microsoft
certifications allow individuals to focus on job-specific skills and demonstrate
their in-depth knowledge and expertise in the technologies with which they work.

How do I get ready?
Microsoft is currently in the process of developing and releasing new courses and
certification exams. Please refer to Microsoft's web site for complete details. For existing MCDBAs, upgrade exams and courses will be available.
The courses and exams listed below are subject to change.
Step 1 ~ Become a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS)The Technology Specialist
certifications enable professionals to target specific technologies, including SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005 and BizTalk Server.
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialists in SQL Server 2005 (MCTS: SQL Server
2005) implement and maintain databases using specific instructions and specifications.
They have thorough knowledge of the product, understand how to use the tools and
Transact-SQL language, and know how to navigate the user interface. Technology Specialists
are typically pursuing careers as a database administrator, database developer,
